Summer is all about sunshine, fun with friends, vacation, and good times. And what better way to enjoy all these than a day at the beach? Our beautiful region is blessed with two spectacular beaches. Warm sand, cool water, and a summer vacation vibe, all within an hour of Montreal—now doesn’t that sound perfect? So slather on the sunblock, the beaches are calling!

A family destination

WHERE:  Plage Saint-Zotique on the shore of Lac Saint-François.

WHEN: Open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

GETTING THERE: Via highways 20, 30, and 40. Approximately 1 hour from Montreal.

**It is strongly recommended that you purchase your tickets in advance; the beach is very popular on hot summer days!

WHO TO GO WITH: The family, of course! But also friends, because this is a great place to enjoy their company while having fun in the sun.

WHY: The vacation feeling you get from the moment you arrive, the fine sand, and the bevy of activities. You’ll never get bored here! Among the beach’s summer musts, you’ll find volleyball and tennis courts, soccer fields, watercraft rentals, numerous picnic areas, an aquatic obstacle course, and weekly activities that are often free of charge. One day at Saint-Zotique beach just isn’t enough!

MUST TRY: The mega Eau Défi aquatic obstacle course. Thrills, spills, and laughs guaranteed!

GOOD TO KNOW:  Don’t miss the Saint-Zotique Regional Grill Festival on August 16 and 17!

The beach of 1001 activities

WHERE:  Camping Sablon beach in Saint-Polycarpe.

WHEN: Open every day during the summer from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

GETTING THERE:  Via highways 20, 30, and 40. Approximately 1 hour from Montreal.

WHO TO GO WITH: There’s something for everyone, both young and old. Bring the family, a group of friends, or the gang from work. (Note to managers: they offer 11 team building activities!)

WHY: The scores of activities to suit every taste. The little ones will have a ton of fun at SheriffVille (miniature horses and ponies, an obstacle course, inflatable structures, mini-golf, characters in costume, and more! Access is included with admission to the beach). The older set can enjoy the beats of a DJ who will be taking care of musical duties on the beach every weekend. More adventurous types can swing on the Tarzan rope and test their skill on the Wibit course, both of which are open every day.

GOOD TO KNOW: Activities for all ages are offered every weekend. Camping Sablon beach is a great place to keep the kids occupied until the new school year begins. Visit their Facebook page for information.
