Winter getaway in Rigaud

Winter fun for the whole family

In January 2022, we invited Maman Escapade to come and discover our beautiful region with her family! She loved her experience! So now, why not recreate this lovely getaway with your own family? Here is the perfect itinerary for an out-of-the-ordinary weekend.

When you arrive at the Sucrerie de la Montagne, take a short maple syrup interpretation tour. Then set off to explore the sentiers de L'escapade's trails, which are directly accessible from La Sucrerie de la Montagne. When the evening comes, sit in the warmth of your yesteryear cottage and enjoy your cozy and private sugar shack meal! Sleep well, like in the old days, warmed by the fireplace. In the early morning, after a good breakfast, set off for a morning of family skiing at Mont Rigaud. Before leaving the area, pick one of Rigaud's many restaurants for lunch, and stop for a little sweet treat for the kids on your way home! The perfect winter getaway!

The Sucrerie de la Montagne is a sugar shack with a gourmet twist. In Rigaud, the 120-acre maple sugar farm uses traditional methods to extract the sap and produce Canada’s favourite treat. Open year-round and set in the heart of an ancient maple forest, the site has been arranged like a village from long ago. The vintage atmosphere transports guests to another time and place, making it all the easier to forget modern cares and truly savour Québec’s flavours and traditions. The menu is based on traditional sugaring-off fare but with an eye towards excellent culinary performance; the kitchen is well-known for providing feasts for heritage activities and other social events. The Sucrerie de la Montagne is considered both a Québec heritage site and a distinctive Canadian experience, making it the perfect stop for anyone wanting to discover one of the quintessential elements of Canadian and Québec culture.
